Don’t be evil

Google good or evil?

(Internet) privacy is just a myth! Google already knows more about you than say the National Security Agency ever will. Maybe Google, with its insatiable thirst for your personal data, will become the greatest threat to privacy ever known? Ask yourself, how far has Google invested (and no I don’t mean money wise) in your digital lifestyle? Is it because Google is far superior then Yahoo or BING? Or is it because Google does understand brand building/marketing better the the other ones? If you search do you Google or do you use a search engine? Is Gmail your default mail or do you use other mail services and/or applications? The list goes on and on and Google continues to expand it’s scope on a daily basis, it’s even expanding beyond the web with it’s latest pet projects Google Chrome, Android and Chrome OS. Google Earth and Picasa are already part of their application line-up and many more will follow.
I don’t have to tell you how dangerous it is to just bet on one horse!? Power can corrupt people and so companies, wasn’t greed one of the se7en deadly sins?
It’s like the Brain (Pinky and the Brain) says: “… Same thing we do every night Pinky, try to take over the world! …”
Okay enough fooling around, I really like Google it’s an awesome and kewl company. It has some of the most genius people at their staff. My point is: always keep an razor sharp open mind, because marketing is the propaganda tool for shaping your desires

Who’s afraid of the big,bad wolf?
If privacy is a myth, then there is no problem. Everything is out there anyway.
However, if there is such a thing called privacy, then it’s worth protecting it. Google has always taken great pride in being able to harvest all kinds of data on it’s users, without being able to pinpoint it to a specific user.
Thats why I see ads related to the content of my mail in Gmail. It would seem like Google read my mail. In a way they did, but it’s not like a actual Gmail person did. Just as your pin-code is unknown to people working at your bank, but it is know to a program (made by your bank).
Now, you have to ask yourself: how trustworthy is that program? And how would you know?
After having read the biography of Google and their founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, I am convinced they really believe in what they are doing and that they are trustworthy. But that’s today.
And as we all know, any empire can start out good, but over time the legacy of their founders can become corrupted and turn into something bad.
So if you believe in conspiracy theories (like I do), Google is the ultimate Big Brother.
I’m sure secret services would give an arm and a leg to tap into Google’s data.
In fact: if I was the boss of any of those three letter organizations in the US – let’s say the NSA – I would already have planted some moles in the Google organization to tap into their data stream!
