Walt Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films (Pirates of the Caribbean) teamed up to create a movie based on the video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which if everything goes well , will be released on May 2010. A short synopsis for those of you who don’t know the games.
The story is set in medieval Persia, the story of an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Which is why after the prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) was tricked by a dying Vizier to unleash the Sands of Time that turns out to destroy a kingdom and transforms its populace into ferocious demons. In his effort to save his own kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake, it’s up to the prince and the princess (Gemma Arterton) to return the sands to the hourglass by using the Dagger of Time, which also gives him a limited control over the flow of time.
There is no Vizier in the movie, however, Nizam (Ben Kingsley) essentially is the movie version of the Vizier being that he is the main antagonist and also the conspirator in the plot to kill his brother, the king of Persia and the uncle of Dastan (the Prince).
Since this is the first part of the trilogy and if successful (just like Pirates) there probably will be two more part: Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. I have written a post about these games earlier.

Defy the future
Posted by Vincent at 20:44 - Views: 396On Stranger Tides
Posted by Vincent at 8:00 - Views: 567Word has it that the fourth film will focus solely on the renowned Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) who’s expected to ride again in Summer 2011, but this time without Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), but that’s not official yet. In part III (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) the movie ended with Captain Jack Sparrow’s search for the Fountain of Youth. Some sources say this will only be a subplot in the new movie, but only time will tell. I hope that Johnny Depp will add new dimensions to his character and it won’t become an other Jaws: the revenge. We’ll write a review later about it because the current facts are scarce.

Pandorum
Posted by Vincent at 19:47 - Views: 1,682I am a sucker for the Sci-Fi/Horror genre, I love movies like Alien, Predator and Star Wars. Currently in theaters runs a new movie from director Christian Alvart called: Pandorum.
Pandorum is a terrifying story of two crew members stranded on a spacecraft who quickly and horrifically realize they are not alone. Two astronauts awaken in a hyper-sleep chamber aboard a seemingly abandoned spacecraft. It’s pitch black, they are disoriented, and the only sound is a low rumble and creak from the belly of the ship. They can’t remember anything: Who are they? What is their mission? With Lt. Payton (Dennis Quaid) staying behind to guide him via radio transmitter, Cpl. Bower (Ben Foster) ventures deep into the ship and begins to uncover a terrifying reality. Slowly the spacecraft’s shocking, deadly secrets are revealed… and the astronauts find their own survival is more important than they could ever have imagined.
The movie was what I expected, not good not bad. For the Sci-Fi aware go see it, if only to take a peek at the mega babe Nadia (Antje Traue) but that’s just a matter of taste

BURN•E
Posted by Vincent at 18:46 - Views: 13,638I have bought the recently released DVD of WALL•E. For those of you who have paid close attention to the movie will recognize the ‘little droid guy’ in the special features.
The guys at Pixar have written a subplot: called BURN•E which is based on the maintenance droid who’s welding outside while WALL•E is approaching the spaceship. If you like WALL•E you will certainly like this short.

Rise of the Lycans
Posted by Vincent at 9:28 - Views: 3,285
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (due in 2009) is a prequel to Underworld (2003) and Underworld: Evolution (2006). The prequel story is about the impossible secret love of Viktor’s daughter, Sonja (played by Rhona Mitra), a Death Dealer and a Lycanthrope (werewolf) called Lucian (played by Michael Sheen). It’s a centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (played by Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Later Lucian is joined by his secret lover (Sonja), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
